I am buying a new computer and have plenty of Dropbox space on my free, basic plan due to new member referrals. I recieved an email from Dropbox which says I will not be able to add a new device with upgrading to a paid account. Is this correct??

You are now limited to 3 connections for free users (a connection includes mobiles, tablets and computers). If you already have more than that they will stay connected, but, you wont be able to add more OR replace them.

So if you have say 6 connected devices and uninstall Dropbox for your old machine you wont be able to 'replace' it on your new machine as you are over the three limit.
