Hi dear community,
it looks like Dropbox did not pass the Google Apps Security check and with this integrations between Gmail and Dropbbox via e.g. Zapier will not work any more from 8th of July 2020.
I am wondering, if Dropbox is doing efford to get verified or if we have to move to Google Drive instead?
Here the original message from Google:
Hello,
Beginning July 8, 2020, the following app will no longer have access to your Gmail data:
Zapier-Dropbox
Google has always worked to design our tools and services with security at their core. Last year, we proactively updated the Google User Data Policy to better protect Gmail users.
All apps listed above have not passed our required verification process and, as a result, will no longer be able to access your Gmail data starting July 8, 2020.
Without access to your Gmail data, this app may not work as intended. If you have any questions, please contact the developer of the app.
You can also use the Security Checkup tool to view, manage, and remove any apps that you have given access to your Google Account.
Thanks,
The Google Accounts team
Thanks for the screenshot Fabian.
Exactly as I thought, this is regarding Zapier and not Dropbox in any way (as shown within your screenshot, there's no reference to Dropbox) so you should be reaching to the Zapier's team for further investigation.
Have a lovely weekend from me and see you around the Community!

Hi @Fabian1! How are you today?
Can you please clarify if you're referring to the actual Dropbox service or the integration that's offered by Zapier?
If it's regarding the latter, you should be reaching out to Zapier directly for more information on the matter.
In any case, please keep me posted Fabian!

Hi Walter,
thanks for your reply!
I am referring directly to Dropbox. The integration of Zapir is only one example (and I was already in contact with them to make sure).
Looks like dropbox itself has be get certified at google as a "safe third party app" in order to make it work again.
Best
Fabian

Hi Daphne,
the email is from the official adress: noreply-apps-developer@google.com (I checked also the header of the email and it is real).
Also Zapir confirmed that it is a known issue and that the only way to solve it is that Dropbox gets certified with google.
Google became more strickt in the last year with third party apps so we had the same problem with other services like CRM systems before. After they certified with google, everything worked again.

Hey @Fabian1, so sorry for the late reply here!

Also, thanks for bringing this email to our attention and for taking the time to look into this with me here.

Hi @Fabian1; how are you today?
In order to look further into this, can you please go to https://myaccount.google.com/security-checkup ?
Just make sure it’s the right Google account (look at the user icon in the top-right) and click “Third Party Access”.
Send us a screenshot of the things listed in the “Third Party Access” section.
Last but not least, for any of the things in that list that are named “Zapier-Dropbox” please hit the (i) or ...(ellipsis) on the right side and send us the details you see there.
Thanks for your patience and cooperation!

Hi Walter,
the only related third party app which is shown is "Zapir". Please find the screenshot attached.
