Hi folks
Unfortunately, since the latest Google Chrome update, I can't open Google Docs on Dropbox.
This is causing lots of daily problems. Every time I try to open one, Google Chrome crashes and I have to force it to close, then open it up again, restore all the tabs and be fast in closing the Google Doc or it will crash again.
How can I solve this?
Thank you ![]()
Hey @gloriacc88, sorry to hear you're still having issues with this.
May I ask if you happen to be running Grammarly on your device? If so, you might want to take a look at this discussion as well.

Hey @gloriacc88, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Can you try to clear Chrome's cache, to see if that helps at all?
And what happens if you use an Incognito window?
Let me know what you find.

Hello ![]()
Unfortunately, both suggestions are not working.
just here to confirm I have replicated this issue on a MacBook Pro (Intel) using both Chrome and Safari. Clearing cache and cookies from the browser temp resolves the issue.
When you open a file from Dropbox.com, a new browser tab/window is opened. That window has a Dropbox URL that is in the process of redirecting to Google docs. The redirect never completes. In Chrome, the application becomes unresponsive and must be force quit the app. In Safari, the tab becomes unresponsive.
In Chrome, I get the same page as the OP. In Safari, I get this at the bottom of the tab opened by Dropbox.
I found the solution:
I went back to a previous version of Google Chrome.
Now it works! But, still, this doesn't solve the problem 100% and it means I can't update Chrome
@ryan_cs, can you also open an incognito window from your Chrome browser, for example, and let me know if that seems to work?
@gloriacc88, can you try a different browser on your computer to see if the issue persists there, as well? Have you also restored your Chrome browser to its default settings and disabled any browser plugins?

So, unfortunately, Google Chrome updated itself to the latest version, and still, I can't access my google docs.
I just tried to use Safari, and it works. This isn't my favourite browser tho.
Is there anything else I could do to fix the problem on Google Chrome?

Ah **bleep**, it works.. interesting to see that Grammarly is the problem ![]()
Is there a ticket I could follow that gives updates about this problem?
Thank you so so much!
I'm afraid you'd need to contact Grammarly's support for more information on the progress of this issue.
Let me know if you have any other questions, Gloria.
