Link function in excel is not selectable

Link function in excel is not selectable

Hi there,

I’m using DropBox on my i-pad pro and would like to create a link form one cell to a PDF in a separate folder (also on DropBox). However when I go to ‘Insert’ functions the ‘Link’ function button is there but it is not selectable, it is light grey and not black. Why is that? And is there a workaround? In case this is relevant: I have downloaded the Microsoft excel app. Even if I open the file through DropBox web browser it re-directs me to the app on my i-pad. I have noticed many apps do not support as many functions as their webbrowser counter parts. BUT if that was the case the ‘Link’ button would simply not be displayed, so why is it visible but not selectable?

Hi @Judith Abegg, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

It's possible that the 'link' feature isn't available for files stored in a Dropbox account.

As this is primarily a Microsoft issue on how it connects multiple workbooks, it might be worth contacting them for further support.

Keep me updated with any details.
