I'm trying to work remotely from my Dell laptop. I can see the Dropbox files, but cannot access them or edit them. I have Microsoft office from 2013. Do I need to upgrade for the excel spreadsheets to work?
Hey @Kstorm3148, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community!
Dropbox actually supports every version of Office since 2007, so you shouldn't be having an issue with compatibility.
Why are you not able to access or edit the files? Are you getting some kind of error message?
If so, a screenshot of the error would definitely be helpful, if you can send one.
And are you trying to open/edit them from the local Dropbox folder on your computer or the Dropbox website?
Keep me posted.

thank you for responding.
I'm not getting an error message.
I have been trying to open/edit them from the Dropbox folder on my computer, not the Dropbox website. Should I be opening files/folders on the website instead?

Hi @Kstorm3148, sorry to jump in here!
What is the syncing status of the app while we speak? Also, what kind of icons do you see next to the files you're trying to open?
Let me know more!
