Removing my personal files from another company account

I accidentally merged my personal files with a clients account when I was sent an invite to one of their project files.  How do I remove myself from their account?

Hey there @tpounds - sorry to hear that!

From what you describe, I can understand that you recently accepted an invite to join a Dropbox Business team.

At this point, only your admin can remove your account from your Dropbox Business team and the best way to do this would be to reach out to your admin directly and ask them to convert your Dropbox account back to an individual account.

Walter, my apologies I never saw your response until now.  The problem is I don't know who the admin would be in the client's company.

No worries @tpounds - I'm always here to help in any way I can!

Now, as the best way to do this would be through contacting your team's Admin directly (or prompt them to contact us through their Admin's Console under the Help tab) we'll need to see who your team's admin(s) is. Note that you can see who your Team Admin is by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click your team name at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Click Groups and members.
  4. Click Members.

You'll see a list of the admins on your Dropbox Business team at the top of the page.
