How can I recover files from a hard disk crash?

My Mac Airbook SSD crashed.  I was accessing/editting Pages & Numbers files for a year plus.  I cannot find those files on DropBox online or when logging into DropBox from another computer.  Could someone please help me to learn where they are, or how I can find them?

Re: Hard drive crash

I understand, if the Dropbox desktop application wasn’t syncing or running, then changes wouldn’t have appeared on the site accordingly.

Perhaps there’s another backup system you use, such as Time Machine or iCloud (given that it’s a Mac device), which might have the files you need.

Re: Hard drive crash

Hi there, were these files already in the Dropbox folder before? Had they synced to the site and were visible there in the past?

If so, there should be some version history, which can be accessed from the deleted files page here.

Let me know if this helps out!

Re: Hard drive crash

I suppose I am ignorant on that.  My guess is I never synced the files from the Mac, or had not in a long time.  That would explain it.  I suppose I thought that was automatic.  That's costly...  A year's worth of files.  I appreciate your time in replying.
