Why can't I see the updates files?

Hi Lusil!  I don't see his updated spreadsheets either on the desktop or web version!  We're both linked in as part of the Team.  I just see my last updates, and not his, which are more recent.  Shouldn't they automatically update?  The desktop icon just shows the 5 diamonds, and Dropbox....Thank you!

At first, this sounds like the files’ changes may not have been applied and synced across from the other user’s end. Could you please let me know the following:
  • Does the other user see the changes on the files through the website? 
  • How did they edit these files - through the website or the desktop app?
  • If they did it through the website, did they save the files in the folder in question? 
  • If they update them through their Dropbox folder on their computer, could they check if their desktop app is running by hovering over the Dropbox icon?

Well....the updated files suddenly appeared!  I'm not sure whether he hadn't shared them, or what.  But I'm all set for now - thank you!

It sounds like the files needed some time to sync across, but nonetheless, I’m glad to hear that everything worked out in the end!

Hi Lusil - I have another question.  Does it matter if my colleague and I are using different versions - one uses Desktop and the other uses the website??  Will this interfere with the file sharing?

In general, no matter where files are uploaded from, they may take some time to sync across to the website and other connected devices, especially if there are many/large files. This can include sharing them with other users as well, so please give them some time to complete their processes.
