Can an expired link be restored because the actual file is missing and it's been quite some time?

Level 2
Just recently upgraded Dropbox and awhile back a file has been some how deleted but I have found a shared link in my email but the link has expired. Says link no longer exist. Is it possible that the link can be restored even though it has been quite some time passed?

No I'm afraid not.

The link would need to attach to a file which you have deleted.
