Re: Exporting multiple photos to camera roll at once

Can I save multiple photos from Dropbox to the camera roll on my iPhone?

Is there a way to save multiple images to my camera roll all at one time on my iphone. I am using drop box a lot but have to click on every image and view it individually before I can save it to my camera roll.  This is incredibly time consuming. Is there any way using the app or website to just click the folder and move it to my camera roll?

"Files" is an Apple app in and of itself (part of iOS 11) that allows you to connect to other cloud storage systems all in a single app. You can add your Dropbox account to it (along with other cloud service accounts) and access them all in a single application along with files that are stored on your phone from other applications.

If you select Save to Files you can easily select multiple photos from your Camera Roll and upload them to Dropbox.

No, there's isn't. You can only export one photo at a time.

What about going the other way? I can take a single photo from Camera Roll to Dropbox, but I want to move about 75 photos from Camera Roll to Dropbox. As soon as I have more than one photo selected in Camera Roll, the Dropbox icon disappears from the available actions.

Hey @aaron289

Welcome to the Dropbox Community!

To upload multiple images, you’ll have to use your mobile Dropbox application instead! Let me send the steps over...

  • Open the Dropbox app.
  • Choose the destination folder that you’d like your pictures to be uploaded and tap the plus button (+) at the bottom of your screen.
  • Choose Upload Photos”.
  • Tap "Camera Roll" on the top to change which album you upload photos from.
  • Find the files you want to upload, and tap to select them for upload. Once you select all of your images, tap Next” at the top right of your screen.
  • Tap the folder icon to set the destination folder for your files.
  • Tap Upload.

Happy Dropboxing, if you need more details, just let me know here!

Warm regards,
JaneA

Hi there!

I'm experiencing some weird things with my android dropbox app. I can't save multiple images to phone gallery, while before (updating to latest nougat s7) it was all fine.

Is it something to do with an app? Or just my phone?

Thank you in advance!

Hey @krisgent

I'd be glad to follow-up on that!

Just to clarify, so that I reproduce and troubleshoot with you, are you trying to export multiple images to your gallery manually and you're unable to get this with the new configuration?

Please let me know the steps you're following in you reply here.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, exactly.

I will share my screenshots here:

1 step: Selecting images on my dropbox app

2 step: Save to device

3 step: Selecting location

4 step: Exporting

Result: Only one image out of four is saved

I tried multiple things already, I made an apart "dropbox" folder on my phone to save files there, didn't work.
Uninstall, reinstall the app, rebooted my phone etc. etc.. really, nothing works.
Altough, I can save them if I select one image at a time.. I am photographer and it's very frustrating if I need to save more than 40 images at once. Especially if before it was possible, without any problems..

Hope I explained everything good. Thank you for your help!

 Hey @krisgent

Thanks for the follow-up and screenshots, I appreciate that a lot!

Seems that your screenshots were caught on a filter here and you've also performed some troubleshooting on your own, so I'd like to ask you to raise a ticket with us, in order to be able to send them over. Please let me know here once you have done so, so that I look it up on my end.

I 'm positive we'll find a solution together, looking forward to your reply!

Warm regards,
JaneA
