Re: Dropbox IOS

I’d happily further clarify what’s happening (@Anjo); thanks for pinging me back!

#1. For starters, it would be worth noting that the Camera Uploads feature will sync any images in their original form. From iOS 11, users can add additional filters on top of their images. The original image is preserved and then the modification is placed over it so, when viewed, the image looks different. Camera uploads will sync the original image & as such we do not sync the applied filter.

#2. When it comes to your second inquiry regarding the HEIF (.heic) and HEVC photo and video files, let me quickly point you to this resource.

Hopefully this addresses your initial inquiry & please do let me know here if you have any additional questions or I’ve misunderstood your query in any way!

In MAnual Mode via the + simbol the photo is uploaded/synched with editing filters. but automatically by camera uploads no.
but if it is possible manually why not automatically? with this can be in setting in future or just by default. THANKS

Camera uploads uploading the original file instead of any edits or retouched pics.

Level 2

I've had auto-synicing on my iPhone(s) for years. When I open Dropbox on mobile, it automatically uploads to Camera Uploads. Just last week I noticed Camera Uploads, Camera Uploads (Original) and Camera Uploads (Edited) so I end up with doubles or more of some pictures. How to I i go back to just having 1 upload per picture? Thanks!

Re: Live Photos & edited pictures don't sync to my Dropbox account. Why?

Dropboxer

Hey there, Anjo,

As of this week, Camera Uploads for iOS should be syncing your edited files as well (with some exceptions; Live and Burst images do not upload but can be manually uploaded and this limitation comes from how iOS deals with these files). If you don't see that happening now, you should in the next few days.

If you have any questions of concerns about the functionality, make sure to check here for answer or reply here any time.
