Files too large to download

I have a freelance videographer who has captured some footage for me in the USA and uploaded it to his dropbox. The files are mostly around 10GB each and there are 38 in total - so we're talking a LOT of data! I am trying to download the files in Australia (where the internet is not that fast) and I can't even manage to download one of them. It just times out and fails every time I try.

I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this volume of data transfer and if there's anhything I can do to get it to work?! Or is there a better alternative? I'm wondering if I should just buy a hard drive and send it through snail mail but I feel like there should be a digital solution!!

Thanks.
