Re: iPhone 6S Live Photos

Ok we're coming up on 18 months since this thread was started. Where's the support? Come on Dropbox, if this is the rate at which you plan on responding to market changes, you're going to get left in the dust. Like others, I'm pretty tired of splitting my cloud usage between Dropbox and iCloud. I'm willing to jump in with both feet for you guys, but only if you can support the file formats generated by iOS. Otherwise, I'm out altogether.

Re: iPhone 6S Live Photos

Google now supports live photos.  Managing photos on the web UI on dropbox is also dog crap.  How do we know if Camera Upload is uploading the original version or the optimized version?  There are so many bugs that dropbox hasn't fixed yet and it doesn't look like they want to do a thing either to improve photo backups or management period.

When will live photo support come to Dropbox? Google now supports it. I'm struggling to see why I'm staying with Dropbox- the main reason originally was the photo integration/Carousel. But that support has gone and Dropbox don't seem to be innovating much anymore... Can we get a response from Dropbox please?

Okay, we are almost hitting the 2yeak mark sinse Live Photo was announced. The iOS 11 keynote will be in a couple of days. And we still haven't recieved any news about the Live Photo's backup.
Unfortunattly, I hadn't renewed my subscription and will be forced to move to iCloud or Google...

Sadly we wont get a response as Dropbox have a policy of not releasing roadmaps/feature developments etc. :(

I'm considering google because it is more cross platform friendly and has better sharing features. With Google suite for work I can have unlimited storage as well as opposed to just having 1TB for the same price.

Re: iPhone 6S Live Photos

A year ago Dropbox stopped supporting Carousel as a standalone app and with it went a really useful way to organize photos.

This month Dropbox is removing support for the "Photos" page.  This removes your ability to see all images at a glance across your entire Dropbox.

And today support is still missing for Live Photos.

That's three specific things Dropbox has done to reduce support for photos.  Starting to see a trend?  Dropbox is an amazing file cloud sync tool but clearly their priorities are not aligned with photo storage.  I really don't understand why.

I'm really disappointed about having to do this but I'm heading to Google Drive for my photo storage needs. :(
