set it so photos will not uploaded to drop box

I want to keep my photographs and have them transfered to "photos" on my Mac. Now when I plug in my camera they automatically go to Dropbox. They take up space there (called camera uploads). Then when I drag them to the trash from Dropbox it says I'm deleted the photos from all devices. I only want them on my Mac and not going to Dropbox. I'm sick of getting the box that say "dropbox is out of space do you want to buy more"

How do I keep Dopbox and still download my photos to my Mac... Thanks

Re: set it so photos will not uploaded to drop box

All you have to do in this case is disable the camera uploads feature @curt2!

You should be able to disbale it by following these steps on your Mac:

  1. Click the Dropbox icon in your menu bar.
  2. Click the gear icon.
  3. Choose Preferences…
  4. Under Import, un-check the box next to Enable camera uploads for

Let me know if this helped!

PS: To make space on your account you can do any of the following:

  1. Upgrade your account – check out www.dropbox.com/plans for other information.
  2. Increase your quota using referrals bonuses or other promotions.
  3. Leave any shared folders that put you over quota.
  4. Move files that don't need to sync out of your Dropbox folder.

PS2: The message you're getting when moving your files to your trash is referring to your account's linked devices as shown under your Security page. You can test it out with a file to see how it behaves and if needed restore it afterwards from your Events page or deleted files page
