Hi,
I've read all threads and instructions on how to cancel a free basic dropbox account and it does not work. I downloaded the app on my cell phone (android) just for a single use. I looked everywhere in my parameters and in my account settings, and nowhere can I find "cancel subscription/account" nor "downgrade subscription" as mentioned in the help assistance threads. These options are simply absent from my free account (my account is just a few days old). I do not want a dropbox account as I have no need for it.
I'm really frustrated by the lack of help from Dropbox and feel like I'm taken for hostage. It's not normal that it's so complicated to cancel an account.
Hi @LilyC, let's jump right into this!
When someone needs to cancel their plan, what they want to do essentially is downgrade from a paid version, to the free one. Since Basic is our free plan, there wouldn't be a billing tab, therefore there is no option to cancel the plan, because it's not a paid one.
It sounds, like what you wish to do is delete the account entirely, could that be the case? If so, you can follow these steps.
