Hello, The owner of the folders that are shared with me is no longer working with me and we're not in contact. I'd like to renew the subscription and make myself the new owner of my folders in Dropbox.  How can I do this?

Thanks for the screenshots, @Rolene!

If the owner of the folders has left the folders, they'll become "orphaned", that's why you don't see an owner there.

In this case, you cannot become the owner of those folders.

Alternatively, you can create new folders and copy the contents of the old ones into the new ones, so that you can become the owner of the new folders.

Hey @Rolene, thanks for reaching out to our Community.

To update the billing info on an account, you'll need to have login access to that account.

If you can obtain login access to the account, you'll be able to update the billing info and also change the owner of the folders.

I hope this helps, but let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Hannah - Thank you for your reply. I do not have access to the owner's account.

In fact, the owner isn't listed on any of the folders I want to take over - We just have access to edit the folders.

Whereas the folder I do own shows me as the owner:
