How do I share files with edit access, without using up the other user's space?

How do I share files with edit access, without using up the other user's space?

The owner of a shared folder has the 2TB plan with plenty of storage

One of the users that is part of the shared folder - has edit access - has the 2GB storage (free plan?) but has a notification that they are running out of space = they only have the sharedfolder in their dropbox - no other folders =- what is using the 2GB of space? - how do I put all "files" on the paid subscription  and leave edit access to the other user?

Happy Monday, @tarrington.

Shared folders take up the same amount of space, in each member's account.

One way, is to create and share a folder that has only the files they need to edit, and add / remove files as necessary, to keep the folder with as few files as possible.

If that still puts the user over quota, you can try sending them the folder via a shared link.

Then they can download and edit the files, and send them back via a file request.

I hope that helps!
