I have been defrauded by this company and I can't get anyone to help me or get in touch with me - I was sent a link from a family member in 2019 - to click it I had to sign up for a temporary account - I didn't think I was signing up for an actual account - I just found out I have been charged $199 for 3 years for a service I never used or knew I had while I was sick and then during the pandemic - I didn't catch it on my bill until I saw it live on my account - I have some learning disabilities - I struggle with technology - i am older and I feel completely taken advantage of by this company - I can't figure out how to use the form to get the old disputes to show up - this is the only way I can find to contact the company - I am in tears and have thrown up being on a limited income that I have been taken advantage of like this - I have spent over 3 hrs on the phone with my credit card company to only find out that this has not been resolved.    I am in tears - this is the worst situation I have never been taken advantage of like this in my life - what can I do to try and get a refund - they should be able to look and see I don't even use there service.  Please help

There is no way to talk to someone live at this business - if you struggle how to use technology then there is no one to help you - these forms are not clear to me.  I tried to get a number from my credit card company 1-415-857-6933.  No one picks up at this number its just a message center and then you don't get a call back.  I was charged $199 on 9.29.2019,  then $199 on 9/29/2020 and $199 on 10/7/2021 - this started when i had a medical issue and was going back and forth to UC Davis and UCSF for treatments.   I fell totally taken advantage of - and I don't think its ok that you can't reach anyone at the company live for help.

are there any customer service advocacy groups that can help someone like me in this situation when they have been taken advantage of - what do I do - I just want to throw up - there is a generation of people who need to be able to be on the phone and talk to someone to resolve something instead of trying to fill out forms that don't let you explain the situation and don't offer any help

I think that is horrible that if a family member sends you a link to see photos and to get enough storage you have to sign up for a temporary account to one time view the photos then you are enrolled in a $199 dollar service - I thought I was doing a one time access - I had a free account for years I would have never accepted a trail to something thinking I was signing up for something that was $199 dollars a year like some professional level account - never in my life have I ever had a situation where a company charged me $597 dollars for something I DIDN'T KNOW I HAD AND NEVER USED AND I CAN'T REACH THEM DIRECTLY TO GET HELP TO TRY AND RESOLVE IT - If you have a dropbox account are you comfortable doing business with a company who treats people this way

i have been taken advantage of dropbox - I can't figure out how to request help on twitter - but I want other people to see my experience publicly - I have clicked a million times on the contact section that is really just a whole bunch of forms where no one can help you and you don't get any customer support

You arent defrauded if you actively gave Dropbox your card information - the website makes it very, very clear about what the payments are for and when they'll be taken etc. 

 

In terms of getting support, this is a public forum so they cannot help here. You MUST contact support via www.dropbox.com/support. If you are logged in via a free (basic) account (which you can check at www.dropbox.com/support) you wont get many options. That also means you have TWO accounts - the one you are logged in to AND a one you've put card info in and paid for. You need to log in to the OTHER account to ask for help the quickest way. This will help with that: https://help.dropbox.com/billing/find-credit-card-charge 

 

This will also help in terms of refunds etc. note, however, that you HAVE to fill the forms in online. There is NO phone support: https://help.dropbox.com/plans/refund

i don't understand - do you work for dropbox - I don't understand how to use the forms its not helpful at all.   I didn't see or understand I was just trying to click on family photos link - nothing that you said was clear to me.

No, I dont work for Dropbox - I'm a user just the same as you. This area is mainly a user supported forum. 

 

As I said, you need to log a support ticket with Dropbox via www.dropbox.com/support. That is the ONLY way you can get help - because that is the ONLY way they can access your account info. 

 

Try doing so from an incognito window and then clicking on the 'need help with a billing issue' button.

i was undergoing medical treatments at the time, I have learning disabilities, am older, and feel totally taken advantage of.  Dropbox has no ethical standards to not be accessible to different learning styles to be available to talk to someone over the phone to help them
