New account vs old account

New account vs old account

I want to purchase a new account.  My old one was managed by people no longer with my company but I want to keep some of the info in the old account. Is there a way to transfer what I want to the new one once I purchase it.

Hi @jackiec, thanks for messaging the Community!

Are you still able to access the old Dropbox account normally?

Do you want to transfer the account to another user, or delete the old account afterwards?

This will help me to assist further!

Yes, the only account I have was from 2017 and it was the free basic.  The users are no longer here and I want to purchase a new account, but the system wants me to uninstall the old one.  Would like to get some info from it and then delete it.

Thanks

Okay, if you have access to the account, have you considered simply changing the email address on the account to your 'new' personal account email from here

You can also disconnect any older connected devices from this page.

This way, you don't really need to transfer anything, since it would be the same account technically, just under a new email.
