Long story short...I was in the middle of an apartment move when my wallet was stolen & so I cancelled all my credit cards -- one of which was associated with my paid Dropbox account. At the same time, I forgot the password to an old computer I had used during school that had Dropbox installed on it. I eventually replaced the card and remembered my password but by that point, I had been downgraded to a 2GB account from my 3T account. That was in August of 2021 and it is now June of 2022 and I keep getting these messages telling me my account is over the limit and no longer syncing and I don't see numerous files. Here is my question...Does the 3T-2GB data still exist and will I have access to it if I upgrade? If the answer is yes, I will upgrade my account today -- but if the files are not longer available, it is a complete waste of money. It would be great to talk to someone official so that I have financial recourse if the files are gone but that does not seem to be an option (fyi I cannot get the contact support link to work regardless of how many cookies I deleted or browsers I used). Does anyone have any suggestions/information?

and I also had not used the computer with Dropbox installed on it and had forgotten the password.

Dropbox doesnt delete anything if you are over quota, so, you can easily check yourself what data is still on your account as it will be in your Dropbox folder and online at www.dropbox.com/home

However, if you cannot remember the password for the account you MUST have access to the email address to get a password reset on it via www.dropbox.com/forgot.

I am able to access my dropbox account; I have not looked at these files since 2015 -- I don't remember what is supposed to be there; is there a `du -h` for https://www.dropbox.com/home/?.

Hey @e_cricket, if you want to see how much Dropbox space you're using, you can go to the plan tab of your account settings.

And if you have access to your account, you should be able to see all your files here.

You can also follow the steps here, to see the size of folders and files in your account.
