I have noticed a credit card charge of 199 Euros that I have not approved of nor recognize. Initially I thought it had to do with a subscription. However, when I logged into my Dropbox account I see that I am NOT a paying member (I only have a BASIC membership). Furthermore, there is no 12 digit transaction-ID on my bank statement, so it is impossible to find out what I am being charged for. The chat function does not provide the answer I am looking for (ex.: what to do if there is no transaction-ID). There are no phone numbers to reach either. I cannot say that I am impressed by the customer service of this company!

You'll need to contact Dropbox Support directly. Visit the Support page while you're NOT signed in to a Dropbox account, including these forums, and you'll see an option for Billing issues. It's best to use an Incognito or Private browsing session to make sure you're not signed in.

 

 

Dropbox cannot charge you if they don't have your billing information. If you've been charged and didn't give them your billing information, then someone else has and you should be contacting your bank.
