Feel for you clawlamont - unbelieveable approach by Dropbox 😞
This is super frustrating. I have a small business that keeps all our financial and accounting records on Dropbox. Last Thursday they all spontaneously disappeared, the Events link had no details, we could not restore...
Today we spoke to the help line and the agent could not explain clearly why my files had disappeared, nor could she tell me what had been deleted, moved, or otherwise changed.
Surprising that Dropbox would be so cavalier. Someone should let the tech/business press know what's going on.
Good point well made.
I wrote to PC Pro today to let them know.
If you feel like adding comments email: letters@pcpro.co.uk
I'm sure they would be pleased to hear from anyone in this trail.
Just thought I would add a further note about Dropbox Business User support.
After emailing twice on Saturday & Sunday I left a voice mail at 9:30am today because the support line was busy and 'we will get back to you as soon as we can'.
Turns out that means 20:25 on the same day - 11.5 hours later when I've left the office.
If it wasn't so **bleep** annoying you'd have to laugh......
+1
This should have been an opt-in feature. My small business lost a day of work due to our computers re-syncing 100,000 files and chugging yesterday. Very upset with Dropbox that my folder naming structure has been hosed and duplicate ghost folders abound.
I received a message that 'To rename a team folder, you must upgrade to Dropbox Business.' That wasn't true when we signed up for a Team, so this feels like a bait and switch scheme to lock us into a more expensive plan that we don't need.
The way we work is changing. Share and discover new ways to work smarter with Dropbox in our community.
