The email associated with one of my accounts was disabled. So when I try to sign in to the account and Dropbox sends a 6-digit code to that email address, I can't get it. Therefore, I can't get into my account.
Hi Megan,
I am having the same issue as the user above. My college, Villanova, gave all students "Villanova Gmail For Life" - therefore, I've been using my [removed per the Dropbox Community Guidelines] email as my personal email post-college, and as my account login username / email associated with the account. However, Villanova reneged on the email for life, and on November 15, 2022, officially expired and deleted all Villanova.edu emails - including mine. Thus, I can't access my Dropbox account to cancel my subscription (I have an existing subscription under my new personal email address here, but the Villanova.edu Droppbox account is still active - so I'd like to cancel the duplicative 2nd account.
Can you email me so we can get this done? Thanks!
Hey @lildem043, I just sent you an email to the address connected to your Community profile here, so we'll continue there!

Hi @Queensarah101, let's jump right into this!
You mentioned that your husband can still access Dropbox. Are you referring to one account, that you both share, or two individual ones?
I am afraid that without access to the email address, it'd be tough to gain access to the account itself. Do you have any old, connected devices that would help you see the files in the account?
If I were you, I'd try to contact the email service provider and see if they can reactivate the address -even temporarily- so you can access the account.
I hope this helps!

Hi @Nadeem ansari, I hope you're doing well!
Can you clarify if you're facing the same issue as the OP? Do you have access to the email address, linked to your Dropbox account?
If not, then is there any chance your email provider, could temporarily re-create the email, in order for you to gain access to the 6-digit security code?
Let me know more!

I know the password and email account associated with my Dropbox account. I no longer have access to the email account, the ESP is not able to help, and I need the files in my DB. I am in a loop from hell of the verification email being sent to the email I can't access. How do I retrieve my files? And if they are gone forever, I want my subscription fee back.
No, they cannot re-activate the email.
Hi @Frustrated in Colorado, I’d recommend getting in contact with our support team directly to look into this matter in more detail.
You can do this by opening an incognito/private browsing window, while not signed into your account, and accessing this link.
From there you should be able to contact support. Make sure to pick an email to which you can receive and send emails from.

I would like to cancel a subscription as well to an old account that I keep getting renewed subscriptions for. Again, I do not use this particular dropbox account as it was associated with a former client that no longer has the association with the email provider that my email account was associated with. I know my email for the Dropbox account, but I can't remember the password. When I try to reset the password the code is sent to an email that no longer exists and I have no way of retrieving it. Please help me to deactivate this account, because you charging me for an account that is no longer needed or used. Thank you
