How can I get my name deleted from 2 accounts that are owned by other people? Then open my own free account?

Hey @Chuckito, thanks for joining our Community!

Would you mind clarifying the situation a bit?

Do you mean that you're accessing Dropbox from an individual account that other people are also accessing?

Or are you perhaps a member of a Dropbox Business team and you'd like to remove yourself from it?

Any additional info will help me assist you better!

Thanks Hannah,

These are old accounts owned by colleagues who added me so that I could share information. This was in 2013 and 2014. The emails for them were [removed] (or

[removed] don't recall) and [removed].

I no longer use them and would like to get my name removed because one or both are interfering with my need to open an account for me - free, at least at the outset.

I tried to start a new account as [removed]. But that email address just got added to  got added to the yahoo.com account.

Please help 🙂

Thanks for the update, @Chuckito.

Were these two accounts part of a Dropbox Business team(s)?

If so, only the admin of the team can remove them from the team, by converting them back to individual accounts.

Once that's done, you can go ahead and delete them, to free up the email addresses and use them for new Dropbox accounts.

Thanks Hannah,

I am checking with the Box owners to have my access deleted.
