I inadvertently changed my personal subscription to a Business subscription following accepting a Team invite from an existing client. Asking how to roll back my subscription to the state prior to the Team invite trigger and to ensure that any of my permissions/files/access doesn't change in regards to any of my Dropbox activity preceding the subscription change.
I was recently invited to join a Dropbox Team and when I joined I was told by Dropbox that my original subscription was canceled. Now I've been told by the Team I was invited to join that they will be removing me from the team. I never wanted my original subscription canceled and I don't know how to fix this because I get other files by way of Dropbox and I do still need it. Do I have to open a new Dropbox account, or is there another way to avoid not being able to use Dropbox?

First, make sure the team admin knows that they need to convert your account back to an individual account. If they just remove you from the team your account will be deleted. If that happens, the team admin has just 7 days to restore the account, after which they would need to convert it.

You were given a prorated refund when the subscription was cancelled by joining the team. Once your account has been converted back to an individual account, you can just resubscribe to a paid plan.
This happens because when you join a Business team account, you're merging your account into the team account, using one of their licenses and effectively making them the owner of your account.
Thank you for your prompt response. I have notified the team administrator and, hopefully, this will all be straightened out. I have saved this response, and again, thank you for explaining the problem and solution for me.
