I cannot access my dropbox as the email I used no longer exists

Re: How can I log in to my dropbox account with an email that I lost access to?

It's too old.

I do not have connected devices left.

I mean, it's university email address, which expires after graduation.

Do you mean if not the connected devices, there is no way I can get my data back?

Correct. If you're unable to access the email address on your account, then there's no way to reset the password so you can sign in. They will help you cancel your paid subscription, but they won't provide access to the account.

Dropbox won't let me change a compromised email address.

Hello

I can't access my Dropbox account using my email address. I always enter in my information manually.  It's not set-up to Gmail as an automatic sign-in.

Yesterday, Gmail blocked my primary account access - long story short: I went to sign in, and they said they didn't recognize my device, and sent me a passcode to my backup email address.  The code didn't work - when I tried again, they blocked my access.  I don't know if my account was compromised or not.

So to be on the safe side - I went to log into my Dropbox account like I normally do - manually entering my email address and password - and Dropbox - for the first time I might add -says they sent me a verification code - to the email address I cannot access.

This is now a vicious circle.

I've had this Dropbox account and email address for about eight years now - and I pay for premium.  I can show the receipt as it was just renewed for the year.

How do I contact someone to get that (possibly compromised) email address changed, so I can access my Dropbox account again?

I'm the sole 'owner' of the account, no one else has access to it.

I'd appreciate some help - I can't even find a human person to talk to and try to get this resolved.

Hey @Vests!

I'm afraid what Rich said is correct in this case.

You can't. You need to have access to the email address associated with your Dropbox in order to gain access to the account. Dropbox will not give you access to the account, and for security reasons they won't change the email address on your account. Your best bet is to work with Google to gain access to your email address.

If you're unable to gain access to your email address again, you can contact Dropbox Support to have them cancel the recurring billing on your account.

No access to business account due to non existing email address for two way verification code.

Please advice me what to do?

If you don't already have an active device linked to your account, then without access to the email, you won't be able to access the Dropbox account. Your best option is to contact the email service provider and see if they can reactivate the address, even temporarily, so you can receive the verification code.

Login Issue

I am trying to log into my old dropbox account but I no longer have access to that email (my company changed domains). I remember the password but dropbox is asking for a 6 digit code sent to that email address. Does anyone know if I have any recourse at all for recovering that information or logging in? The help article says if I remember the password (which I do) I can log in and immediately change my email address but that isn't optional because of the 6 digit code issue. Any help would be appreciated!

Without access to the email its not possible I'm afraid.

Can your company reset up the email?

Lost password, no acces to email

BW_press

Hello,

[I'm writing from another account].

I have no longer access to the email address I used for setting up my Dropbox account. The Dropbox application on my computer signs in automatically. I cannot remember that password any more. I cannot change that password nor the associated email. How can I solve this loophole? Even if my browser remembered the password, I cannot change the password nor the email because for these two things Dropbox asks for the old password.

I'm stuck. What are my options?
