Hey, My Email account is deleted and i cant reactivate it. I know my password of Dropbox, but it wants me to put in a Code that they will send to my Email (which is deleted). Can i do anything to solve that issue?

If you need to cancel your subscription and you're unable to sign in to your account to do so yourself, you'll need to contact Dropbox Support. They can help you cancel any future charges but they won't help you gain access to the account unless you have access to the email address you used.

 

Visit the Support page while you're NOT signed in to a Dropbox account, including these forums, and you'll see an option for Billing issues. It's best to use an Incognito or Private browsing session to make sure you're not signed in.

If you don't already have an active device signed in to your account, you won't be able to gain access to the account without access to the email address associated with it. Your best option would be to contact the email provider and see if they'll reactive the email address, even if it's just temporary.

Hi All. I have deleted my one gmail account a few years ago. This was the email account with which I log in to my dropbox account. Every time I want to log in to that dropbox account, it says that I must type the code that was sent to the gmail account. Is there any way I can change the way it verifies the user?

Hey @Jan-Paul, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community.

 

Is it possible to reach out to your email service provider and see if they can reinstate that address for you?

 

Recreating the address should also work, if you can do that.

Hi Hannah

 

Thanks for the response! It seems that deleted gmail accounts can only be restored if they have been deleted recently and not 3 years ago like mine. So I cannot recover the email adress itself. I was hoping to verify my dropbox account by some other means, but contacting a person at these companies (dropbox or google) to talk has become next to impossible :-).

Hi @Jan-Paul, I'm afraid that without access to the email address linked to your Dropbox account, there's not much that we can do. 

 

As a last resort, you can try checking any old devices, to see if your account is still connected there, in order to download your files, and create a new account with them.

Email update

I currently have an account but my email address on file is no longer valid. I have tried to log in to my account to change it, but the verification code is sent to the existing address which is no longer valid, so I don’t receive it. I can’t change addresses without being logged in and I can’t log in - Catch 22!
