Is there a Smart Sync workaround to "bulk" check them all?

Is there a Smart Sync workaround to "bulk" check them all?

Smart Sync is enabled for our entire team via the Admin Console. However, when looking at this further with one of our machines, there are still files that are marked as local. The pc I used is an admin, but, how do I ensure that ALL users accounts are ONLY online?  We work with a lot of proprietary information and not having info on local machines is a big concern.  I have read in places that once enabled, Smart Sync settings will only apply to newly created folders.  Help!

Hey there @newpointadvisor - thanks for using Smart Sync!

Could you please let me know if you notice this on new files or already existing ones and if this affects only a specific device?

Also, do you happen to run any 3rd party apps or services that look at (or index) your files?

Note that a number of applications can cause Smart Sync files to be recalled. While anti-virus applications and programs such as Microsoft Word and Adobe Photoshop which have "recents" menus are the most likely culprits for this, there might be something else causing this.

Moreover, while you can set the new content to be "online only" by default for the whole team (via your Admin's console, I guess you already knew that though), there is no way to control how your team's members are going to be accessing the files in question (they might even change their Smart Sync settings from their app's preferences), meaning that depending on how (you and) your team's members use these files, you might see files returning as local after having worked on them.

I hope this information helps to some extent and I will be waiting for your next reply here so as to get a better understanding of your inquiry in order to send you the most appropriate information and next steps if needed.

PS: I don't if you're interested, yet have you heard about the team selective sync feature?

Thanks Walter!  So this is our setting:

Now unless we are reading it wrong, we are setting it up so that ALL files are online-only.  Our interpretation of that is that they aren't able to override this setting.  Are we incorrect?  To answer the other questions, it occurs on my Mac, on our owners PC and I haven't reached out to our "general" members (no admin access).  Currently there are 3 admins.  The owner, our folder manager and I am the "Master" DB folder. Because of the folder sharing requirements, we don't use the Team folders that often.  On the owner's folder list, we see this:

This should be a folder that is synced to online only.  Does this help??

Thanks for the swift reply @newpointadvisor - much appreciated.

As I don't see the screenshots you attached and I'd like to have a further look into this for you, would you mind if I reached out to you via email to the address you use for your Forum's profile so we can work on this together with all of my tools available?

Let me know here so we can take it from there. Thanks!
