Sharing contents of private team member folder

Sharing contents of private team member folder

Hello,

I'm helping a friend organize her business dropbox. She wanted to share her folders/files with me which are in her private purple folder. Does she need to go into EACH line item in that folder and "Move" it outside that folder and into a new one, or is there a quicker way to share the contents?

Thank you!

Hey @Sweeterpea, thanks for reaching out to us!

If they want to share a folder with you, they can still simply add you to it as a shared folder.

If they are trying to move it from their purple folder into a team space or another folder though, they can do so from the website if:

  1. The user has edit access to the folder they're trying to move.
  2. The Manage access setting is set to Folder members.
  3. The folder is owned by someone on the same team as the user who's moving it.

You can find more info about this here

Let me know if this helps!

Yes, my friend is the Administrator and she wants to share her folders/files in her private team member folder to a team space. She says it won't allow her to share that folder though. There is a lot of content in her private folder, so I'm trying to figure out the easiest/quickest way for her to do that.

Thanks for getting back to me, @Sweeterpea

Could send me a screenshot (without any personal info) of the error message.

Could you also confirm for me at which step the other user is getting stuck? Have they tried following the steps outlined here

Let me know of any updates!
