Taking over my account from a Business team.

Taking over my account from a Business team.

Hi,

I work for a company and was given access to their Dropbox account. Over ten years I have added my own things (with their permission created my own folders) but now they have sold the company and the new company is going to close the account. I have backed up all my files, but what I really want to do is take over the account or at least link all those files to my Dropbox account so that when they delete it my folders won't go with them.

Would appreciate any help thanks.

Hi @HVSP, I'd be happy to help!

You mentioned that what you want to do is "take over" this Team account. In order for you to do that, you'd need to become the admin of this Business team.

What I would suggest, is for you to ask the current admin of the team(or someone that has access to the admin's account) to revert you back to an individual account.

Or, as your last resort, you can create a new Dropbox account, and share content from one account to the other, so that you can then download them and save them to your new Dropbox account.

I hope this helps!
