I had a personal account, with 50gb of storage.  Work shared me with a business account, it appears to take over my personal account. I couldn't selective sinc and the work account was filling up my surface HDD. so i asked to be unshared form the work account. 

That process has deleted my personal account and I cannot sync any of my devices any more  PC/tablet/mobile.  I attempt to login and the website said "no account with that email address". 

I have created a new account to write this email, but im left with 2gb. 

any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi Colin

My initial thoughts are that your work account is using the same email account you had for your personal Dropbox, hence the "took over". To get around that, you can either change your work or personal email address on Dropbox here: www.dropbox.com/account

This is a ridiculous process! The same thing just happened to me, I lost all of my personal files, and now have to open a new account with 2GB of storage -- I had accumulated around 8GB from referrals, etc. I can't believe that this can happen. I called their technical support number at [phone number removed by moderator] and they told me I'd have to pay for more storage now and hung up on me.

First, the phone number you posted is a fake support number and not associated with Dropbox. There are many such numbers floating around and they're mostly for generic tech support companies that try to charge you assistance. If you provided them with ANY personal information, do whatever is needed to protect yourself.

Dropbox only provides phone support for business customers. Basic and Pro users use the ticket system to request support.

I lost all of my personal files, and now have to open a new account with 2GB of storage -- I had accumulated around 8GB from referrals, etc.

Ask the team admin for the business account to contact Dropbox Support and request that your account be restored.

I had a pro account and upgraded to a business account in February.  I use 1 email address for everything.  For some reason my account will no longer backup my photos on my phone, which is also for business.  

Is this new policy really saying that Dropbox will not backup my business phone's photos?  Is it really saying that I have to create a second account and use either a paltry 2gb, or purchase another Dropbox Pro account in addition to my business account?  Is Dropbox forcing me to get another email address just so I can backup my photos on my business phone?

Basically. Yes. 

Sorry, I know thats not what you wanted to hear. But, Dropbox doesnt allow camera uploads on business.

You are right, not what I wanted to hear.  I will be contacting support and requesting a refund for the balance of my business account.

I dont think you will have much luck with that either - the T&C's you've agreed to state no refunds. 

What you could try is to ask for a compromise and some free space on a new personal account to allow you to use Camera Uploads.

granted, but the product offering worked differently when I purchased the service.  Shutting down a feature might be in their T&C, but it's also terrible customer service.  My business may not mean much to them, but if they value my money at all, then they will consider crediting the balance of my business subscription towards 4 pro accounts.  

Right now I pay $750 / year for a (recently) crippled service.  If they want to salvage pro accounts from me, then a little customer service will help.

It didnt I'm afraid. Business has ALWAYS had this as a 'quirk' of it -you've never ever been able to use Camera Uploads. Its a HUGE complaint on here (and in my opinion a valid complaint). So what you have now is what you had during the trial before you paid.
