How can I edit a contact name?

Background - the email address is the same (its a jobtitle@companyname.com) but the person now in place has changed. I have deleted contacts but when I re-add to reverts back to the previous persons name and has that person left under a bit of a cloud it is rather unfortunate. (Previous thread closed)

Sorry for jumping in, @Elaine4

In general, when you share a folder with someone else on Dropbox, this will save their account name in your contacts (for future use).

The only way that this name can be changed is if the person themselves update it via their own account settings, like Hannah mentioned above.

Hey @Elaine4, thanks for reaching out to our Community with your query.

If you're referring to changing the name of the account of this user, I'm afraid you can't edit it yourself.

The person that currently owns the account, will need to go to their Dropbox settings where they will see an option to edit their name.

I hope this helps, but let me know if you have any questions!

No, the contact is someone I share a folder in my Dropbox, not my Dropbox.
