Re: Can't store files online on MacOS Catalina

Can't store files online on MacOS Catalina

Hi,

A co-worker of mine works on MacOSX Catalina.

His DropBox is up-to-date, v162.4.5419, same as mine on my Windows 10 PC.

He gets the DropBox options from the right click menu, but not the "Store online" one.

Where can this problem come from?

Thanks

Hey @t4ngml, thanks for posting on our Community and happy Friday!

Can you send us a screenshot of the option they get when they right click on the files insider their Dropbox folder on their computer, so that we can have a visual too?

Also, is the desktop app 'up to date' or still syncing in their menu bar?

Let us know what you find!

Hi @t4ngml, could you ask your coworker for some more info regarding his subscription

What type of plan is he using?

Hi,

All the team is on a Standard plan.

Hi @t4ngml, is it possible that the team admin has disabled that option for said member?

I strongly doubt it.

If so, he wouldn't have done that on purpose. We already had a quick look, but couldn't notice any specific, nor surprising setting regarding the user account.

But maybe we missed it? Where would this option be? Can you point the path where to check if this limitation is enable for that account?

Thanks.

Hi @t4ngml, is the 'Dropbox system extension' and 'Online-only files on Mac' options enabled on this page on their account when they access it directly?

The user had a look at his settings.
He had:

  • DropBox system extension enabled
  • Online-only files on Mac deactivated

Then he activated the Online-only files on Mac option. It didn't change anything. Even after restarting the Mac
