I got a new computer and am giving the old one to a grandchild. I cant get it off the old computer. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I made a backup of the files on to a thumb drive and now have a duplicate backup on Dropbox, using up my limited space.
I need to get dropbox totally off computer, im giving away & remove dupicated backups on my account
Thanks very much
Hey @RockerG, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community.
To safely delete your Dropbox files from a computer, first you need to unlink the computer.
You can do this by clicking on the trash can icon next to the computer on the "devices" section of your security page.
Once the computer is unlinked, you can just delete the Dropbox folder and uninstall the Dropbox application and your files will still be available in your account online and other connected devices.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks I unlinked the computer and deleted all of the files. Now I can't delete the empty folder. Appreciate your help. THANKS !
No worries, @RockerG!
Did you mean that you can or that you cannot delete the empty folder?
If you cannot, can you let us know why? Are you getting some kind of error message?
