Dear Dropbox community,
I've been using dropbox several years without any problem until today.
A friend of me (also dropbox user) wanted to share with me a folder. I got an email from dropbox asking if I want te join their team. Since I was in a hurry I clicked on 'Join your team'.
What happened next was receiving several emails from Dropbox
- Your Dropbox Plus account has changed
- The Admin has deleted you as a member from the team
After that my Dropbox account was gone, so I had no access to any file, not on my desktop, nor via the browser. When I wanted to log in, it said 'account is cancelled'.
On top of this: no possibility for support.
After I had a call with my friend who has sent me the invite, he cancelled the suspension from his team.
The situation is now that I got acces to my files again, but as a member from his Dropbox business profile.
All I want is to restore everything to how it was.
Can anyone help me how I can do this?

Your friend needs to convert your account back to an individual account. If he just removes you from the team, it deletes your account and he only has seven days to restore it. He must convert your account instead. Send him the link above.
Jay can you please advise if this is still the case? please email me ASAP. Mine was deleted, but I know for a fact, that I do not have anything that can be misconstrued as any violation. I have businesses with vital documents in my file. This is catastrophic to my business.

Was your account part of a Dropbox Business team and your account got deleted by the admin, or is something else that's wrong?
Any additional info you can give us, would be really helpful.

I exactly encountered the same issue with dropbox... It denied me having any account and asked me to create a new one which i did.. thinking that it would restore my data but it did not.
We need assistance from dropbox engineer to resolve the issue.. and thanks for keeping our memories
I would like to restore my data as well... on the same email address i am using...
Dropbox support cannot restore deleted accounts. If it was a personal one as soon as its deleted via the website thats instant and permanent. If it was a business one you need to get the Business Admins to do what @Hannah has already said.

It sounds like you were a member of a Business team and the team admin has removed you. You should contact your team admin. They should be able to restore your account as long as it was deleted within the last 7 days.
no, on the contrary, I am the team administrator, the account that was deleted was mine, the team member's continues normally
