Custom link to share files and folders

The token generated link is great, but the option to creat a custom link would be even nicer. If I want to share this link in a printed manner or mouth-mouth a token generated link would be very frustrating. But a custom link like: dropbox.com/sh/userX/thingstoshare it would be very nice. Or you could add something in between like the token link related to a custom link, like:

yourdropbox.com/thingstoshare directs you to the token link (me, the user sets this up). In this way I only share the easy part. And do not have to publish it in a password protected website or set up a subdomain on my server for it (if I have one). That would be all dropboxers. Thank you.

And if its already available, I just could not find it.

Re: Custom link to share files and folders

Hello...

The easiest way to create customized links is to sign-up for a free Bitly.com account. Bitly.com creates a short-link which makes long URLs easier to remember and to share with other people.

In addition, every time that someone clicks on one of my customized links, Bitly keeps track for me.

I've been using multiple Bitly accounts since 2009 because it's easy to create short links and check my stats for each link.

EXAMPLE:

FORUM THREAD URL:
https://www.dropboxforum.com/hc/communities/public/questions/202545215-CUSTOMIZING-LINKS-IS-IT-POSSI...

CAN BE CUSTOMIZED TO:
http://310ei.com/DBxCLP

You can look at my example Dropbox folder that utilizes a custom link... http://310ei.com/SubfolderLink.

NOTE: In my example above, I'm using a Bitly Branded Short Domain that replaces Bitly.com with 310ei.com (310ei = my forum name).
