Re: How can others upload to my account directly?

How do I allow others to upload files directly to my Dropbox account?

I want to allow a third party to upload a file once a month.

Does this person need to be a member?

Can I give a link to the folder? Is that all I'd need to do?

Would the 3rd party be able to see everything in this folder?

Should I make a folder just for this person to upload to it 1x per month?

Automate it how exactly @DawgMob ?

I guess it's not needed after all as your file requests will remain open for as long as you want. Others will be able to upload to your account through the same link (file request).

If, by any chance, you'd like to change your file request once it's created, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click Files.
  3. Click File requests.
  4. Click the  (ellipsis) icon.
  5. Click Edit.
  6. You can edit both What are you requesting? and Where should these files go in your Dropbox?
  7. Click Save.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

Hey there @DawgMob  - how are you today?

In this case, all you'd need to do for others to upload files to your account directly (even without a Dropbox account) is open up a file request (all they'd need is a valid and useable email address).

Let me know if this helped!

Is it possible to automate this?

In other words, do I need to manually do a file request every month or can they use the same file request link?

Jumping on board here....

Is the link recipient able to upload folders containing documents, or only individual documents? Am praying it's the former...

Hey @Cinda B.

Clicking the file request link with give you the following options.

mh81L13E.png

You can upload multiple files, from your Dropbox folders, the system allows you to select all the files with one click :8ball: you can also choose files from your computer. Even folders!

Here is all you need to know, being a receiver of a file request.

Cheers!

Excuse me: I am totally new to Dropbox. You say that to allow others to upload files to my Dropbox I need to do a File Request. The problem is, I have no idea what they might call their files so no way to "request" them.
