I am having an issue where I can't edit files. Can you help?

Hello, I'm currently unable to edit any of the files in my company's Dropbox account.

When I open the file, it says that I'm 'viewing' it, despite also showing that I have permission to edit it. I can't find a way to shift from viewing to editing.

Please help. Thank you!

Re: Can't Edit Files

Hi Discordia, welcome to Dropbox Community!

Can you clarify how are you accessing these files? Are you a part of a Dropbox Business account?

A screenshot of where you see the “Can edit” permission (omitting any personal information) would be very helpful to have a clear image of what is going on.

If you’re the owner or an editor of a shared folder, you can change folder permissions. If you’re the owner of a shared file, you can add or remove people from that file. For more details take a look at our article here

Additionally, you can raise a ticket with our team here in order to further investigate with all our tools available.

Once you’ve raised the ticket please include the ID and I’ll make sure that a colleague handles your case asap

Thanks in advance for your reply!

Hey there @Discordia - how are you today?

Just checking in with you on this matter, did you get the chance to review Norah's reply?
