Unable to download a shared file with MS Edge

When I click on a link for a shared file such as

https://www.dropbox.com/s/zmwhpqkkpb1oryt/Food%20Establishment%20Plan%20Review.pdf?raw=1

In MS Edge it attempts to download that file but all I get is a message:

"This page is having a problem loading"

The console shows this error:

SCRIPT7002: XMLHttpRequest: Network Error 0x80700013, http://download.microsoft.com/download/B/9/F/B9FF9327-7A72-4165-BF91-9B7EEB6C579B/DeviceList.json

I do not have this error in Firefox or IE 11

Re: Unable to download a shared file with MS Edge

Hey there @daniel-mcneil - sorry to hear that!

First off, nice to hear that you managed to tackle this little obstacle by switching to Mozilla Firefox! Can you please try clearing your cache memory and let me know if this persists?  To do this, click on the menu button situated in the upper right corner. Under "Clear browsing data", click on Choose what to clear. Check the boxes next to "Cookies and saved website data" and "Cached data and files".

As you mentioned this does not persist on other browsers, it seems like it's MS Edge specific. Are you on the latest version of Edge Daniel? Bear in mind that Dropbox works best in the two latest stable builds of the supported browsers

Let me know what you find and we'll take it from there. Thank you!

Re: Unable to download a shared file with MS Edge

Thank you, that worked!

FYI, I case anyone gets the dreaded "Some data could not be cleared.  Please try again later." message from Edge while trying to clear data, moving my temporary internet files folder worked for me:

1. Open Internet Explorer

2. Click the gear in the upper right

3. Click 'Internet Options'

4. On the 'General' tab under 'Browsing History' click 'Settings'

5. Click 'Move Folder' and pick a destination to move your temporary internet files to

6. Click OK

When this finishes you should be able to open Edge and clear your data.

Re: Unable to download a shared file with MS Edge

Thanks for keeping me posted Daniel ( @daniel-mcneil ) - glad to hear this worked out well for you and I appreciate the additional info as it might help other users who might stumble upon a browser specific problem like this one in the future.

Have a nice one winking face
