Hi there @agrai, thanks for posting on the Community and I’m sorry to hear that you’re also having this issue. 
 
Could you please elaborate a bit in order to have a better understanding of what you’re seeing? For example:
  • Are you experiencing this behavior when comments on files (such as .pdf files) or Paper docs?
  • Have you tried switching to another browser or using incognito?
  • Have you by any chance cleared your cache? 
Any additional info would be very helpful.

Hi Lusil,

 

I am tyring to communicate with both my client and retoucher on jpg files.  My retoucher has also told me he can see my notes but is unable to see the box associated with the note.  We have both tried multiple browsers with no success.

Please let me know if you need any other info.

We're fine - y'all just changed your commenting approach and it's not nearly as good as the old version where a solid yellow box surrounded the comment area. Don't like the box outline nearly as much, but oh well. So no glitch - just a disappointment in the change made.

The problems I experienced a month ago haven't resolved at all. Three browsers, no luck. There is _no_ box or any marking indicating which part the comment refers to, and no scrolling to the relevant page. Can't use this feature at all, which really is a pity!

It's actually not working. We use Dropbox comments to mark edits that need to happen in PDF documents. It used to be that when I clicked on the comment, it would jump to that location on the page. Once I made the edit in my document, I would go back to Dropbox and click "Resolve" on the comment so that it was given a check mark and it then disappeared from the page (unless resolved comments were set to be shown).

There's no point in having a comment that isn't pinned to an exact location on the page. The old commenting system allowed text to be highlighted and comments could be pinned to that text. It would be nice to have that option back, along with the yellow box drawing. Sometimes a comment needs to go with a line of copy in a document and sometimes it needs to go with an area or image.

The latest update doesn't seem to be much of a help in sharing documents and responding to comments.  Users can drag a box across a particular area on which to comment -- but once submitted, there's no indication in the string of comments to know what the user is referencing.   "Fix this" just leads to a bevy of questions down the "Fix what?" rabbit trail.   

Maybe the Dropbox designers are just trying to force more personal interactions in our workplaces?   slightly smiling face

Seriously, y'all...  "fix this," please!

Comments were linked to my file two nights ago and now the comments are there, but not linked and highlighting has disappeared.

I changed computers, browsers, tired ingonito, cleared cache and history. They are still not showing. 

Any advice on how to get them linked again is greatly appreaciated.
