How can I export images from Dropbox to Facebook?

How can I export images from Dropbox to Facebook?

I sell LuLaRoe and all of my inventory photos are on Dropbox.  If I want to post a photo from Dropbox, is there a way to do that without first going into Dropbox on my phone and saving it into my Camera Roll?  For instance - when I click to add a photo - my option is Camera Roll - is there a way to have Dropbox as an option and select pictures directly from there?  I can do it on my laptop, but can't figure it out on my phone!

Hi Janice, while it isn’t possible for the Facebook app to import directly from Dropbox, you can do the opposite and export photos directly from your Dropbox app into the Facebook app using the following steps:

- Open the file you’d like to export in the Dropbox app
- Tap the ellipsis (..) on the top-right and select “Export”. You will now see two rows of apps.
- In the lower row, tap “Open In…” - this will show you a list of apps to export this file to, and Facebook should be on the list.

Hope this helps!

What if Facebook does not show up on that list?

Hi @Oldmaven, if Facebook doesn't appear there, then it means you can't export that specific image or file to the app.

You might need to contact Facebook if this is a normal image, since this would be an issue on their end preventing the image from being exported to Facebook.

I don't see "Export" in the three-dot menu. It's not in the far right three-dot menu when I right-click on the image, and it's not in the top right three-dot menu when I open the photo.

I'm on a desktop Mac, using Chrome browser.

Hey @roshana, thanks for the nudge here.

If you open the image through the Dropbox website, you should see a 'Publish' option right above it; can you check?

Nope, no Publish button. I see Download, Open In, Add Signature, and Edit.

Hi @roshana, this feature is available for Instagram Business accounts, or Facebook Pages, not personal accounts.

Could you confirm that you meet these requirements?

I'm an admin for several FB pages. That's why I want to post photos from Dropbox to the FB pages.

Is that what you mean?

Hey @roshana, this is a feature that is available to a small number of users and only on dropbox.com, so if you don't see this option, it's likely that it's not currently available to you.

It could become available in the near future, though, so keep an eye out for it!
