I didn't get my referral space

I sent a referral to a friend years ago... they no longer have the referral link. found no way to resend the referral link

Was told on one of these boards that they can sign up and still get the extra space. They signed up, downloaded the app. Referral status says they did not accept the invitation.

Is there anyway to get that referral bonus. or should my friend and I use a new cloud service?

If this is the case, would it be okay if we reach out to your email associated with the forum profile to investigate further?

Hi there, can you see your existing referrals from the following page?
 
Does it says the other user’s email address there, and if so what status does it have?

on the earn more space part, for the user who signed up today it still says invitation sent, and when I click on that it says "your invite was not accepted"

Your invite wasn't accepted
  • Your invite to <email> was never accepted
  • <email> is already using Dropbox, sorry!
 
They did not have dropbox before this, I watched them create their account at their desk.
 
According to this thread we did not need the referral link to get the bonus.
 
but it appears that is not the case since they created their account and dowloaded the app onto their computer and now nothing
