I have one folder I cannot delete

I have one folder that will not delete. It ends with.tmp but I do not need it.

Re: I have one folder I cannot delete

Hi there, most likely the folder is being created by another app while a file is being edited.

Could you try closing other apps to see if you can then delete the folder.

If this doesn’t work, try quitting the Dropbox desktop application completely and then delete the folder.

Let me know how it goes!

Re: I have one folder I cannot delete

Jay, the other apps are closed. Only have 2 now. Rest were all moved and then deleted in DP.

Still cannot delete the one left, as it has an extension of.tmp it must have been used with something else but how do I remove it now? Also my taskbar icon is OK now but the Website still shows no space.

Re: I have one folder I cannot delete

Have you closed the Dropbox app on your machine and deleted the folder from Explorer/Finder?

What error are you getting specifically? Could you forward a screenshot of the message?

Thanks in advance!

Re: I have one folder I cannot delete

I just checked again and the extension changed from .tmp to.zip so I tried to delete again and it worked. I then signed out of DP and back in again and it still says no space.

Now what?

Re: I have one folder I cannot delete

If you’re running low on space, most likely you have a shared folder on your account that is taking up space.

Try viewing the size of the folders online using the steps here.
