Windows 10 app alerts that my dropbox is full when it isn't

Erroneous "Your Dropbox is full" message

I am getting a regular "Your Dropbox is full" pop-up - but I have plenty of space.

This 'appears' to have become a problem since I've added a Work dropbox - though that meay be a red herring.

I get the message despite my personal dropbox only showing 6.6GB  of 8.88GB used and my work dropbox showing 300.7MB of 2GB used.

Hey @Vox

Welcome aboard, I have moved your post here

I'm afraid that if your account is above your storage limitations, you can't dismiss this notification.

On the other hand, if your account is well below your quota, then reinstalling the latest stable version of the Dropbox application will probably help you resolve that.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Warm regards,

JaneA

On both my desktop and a fresh install of the app on my new laptop are telling me that I've no space left in my dropbox account. both machines have well in excess of 100GB locally available on the drive with the local dropbox files.

If i log into the dropbox site and visit  my account settings i can see:

Space (Dropbox Basic)

511.3 MB of 3 GB used
Regular files (511.3 MB)
Shared files (0 bytes)
Unused space (2.5 GB)

I've tried removing the app and reinstalling it but to no avail. The android dropbox app on my phone doesn't have the same problem.

Any idea what's going on here? The application seems to feel the need to alert me every 30mins or so and it's beggining to be annoying to the point I've concidered removing the app and using it via the web gui only.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there, @OliverHill, welcome to our forum!

Just to make sure, are these devices logged in to the same account as the one you’re checking online?

If so, I would like to ask that you submit a support ticket here https://t.co/HWF7u81OSj so one of our agents can investigate further, and get this over to the right team of specialists if needed.

Thanks, and have a great weekend :sunglasses:

Hi Sanchez, yes they are both linked to the same Dropbox account. My android phone is also linked to this account and this doesn't alert me to any space problems. I only have one dropox account.

I've followed your advice and raised a support ticket.

Many thanks

I'm on Windows 10 and I'm getting a Traytip in the lower right hand corner of my screen that says my Dropbox is full. However, it's not, I'm only using 60% of the space available. I've confirmed this using the Dropbox settings menu, and also confirmed it looking at the web interface under account settings. The Traytip message is inaccurate and annoying, and pops up randomly throughout the day.

Here are some screenshots that show exactly what I'm seeing.

Hey @camerb

Thanks for getting in touch on the Dropbox Community!

To my understanding, the notification may be trigerred because your account used to be close to going above your storage quota previously. If you have enough available space, as per your Account tab online,  maybe you could try a fresh reinstallation of the offline version of the application, which will reload all visual elements.

Hope this is helpful to you!

Warm regards,
JaneA

As it says, I keep getting the "Dropbox is full" notification, but it's false.  My settings screen says:

2.7 GB of 6.25 GB used
Regular files (1.6 GB)
Shared files (1.1 GB)
Unused space (3.5 GB)

So in other threads ive read about talk about shared folders added to the total, but theyre my own files shared with others, so they're already included. (even if I were to add 1.1 GB to the 2.7GB it still wouldn't exceed the limit)

That being said, it is really annoying to keep seeing this notification since it's completely not true.  Can anyone help with this?
Thanks!
