All dropbox files syncing automatically and taking up space

All dropbox files syncing automatically and taking up space

I downloaded the Dropbox app on Mac, and took up all the space I have. The files are trying to sync automatically. How can I delete these unwanted files? I want to keep them on my computer still, but I need to keep them out of my Dropbox so I have enough space. Thanks in advance.

Hey @AyaanSingh, welcome to our Community.

If you want to keep your files in Dropbox, but want to free up your hard drive space, you can use our dedicated features, to help you do that.

You can use our selective sync feature, which removes entire folders from your Dropbox folder, but keeps them available online.

Or you can make your files 'online-only', to keep them in the Dropbox folder, without them taking up space.

I hope this helps, but let me know if you have any questions.
