Available storage suddenly decreased

Available storage suddenly decreased

I haven't logged in or uploaded anything new to Dropbox in a while. I also do not have any auto-syncing. I literally have two files stored. But I suddenly got an email from Dropbox stating I'm out of storage. I thought it was spam at first, but I logged in and the site is also telling me I'm out of storage. I don't understand how this could be possible as I haven't touched anything in at least a month.

Thanks for posting here, @cauz!

Do you currently have the desktop app installed on your device? If yes, is it possible that you enabled computer backup/external hard drive backup?

Please visit this page to double check this.

Let me know what you find.

I do not. As I shared, I only have 2 files total in my Dropbox and that hasn't changed.

Hey @cauz, can you please follow the steps in this article to calculate the size of your folders and view the size of your files in Dropbox, to find what's taking up your space?

I have two files:
* a text file that is 513 bytes

* a zip file that is 11.58 GB

My total available size used to be 12 GB.

Thanks, @cauz. What does the plan tab in your account settings report about this?

Hi @cauz, thanks for the image, it looks like the total quota allowance is 10.62 GB.

If you check the referrals page, do you see any promotional quota that may have expired on your account?

I understand what the quota is currently, I'm saying that it used to be higher as evidenced by the fact that I was able to upload a file larger than my existing quota. I do not see any promotions that say expired.
