how do I stop Dropbox syncing large amount of /strings files constantly and now taken up all my space - I have recently had a new pc, I don't know if this is the cause in any way? please advise
Hi @Sheila K.2, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Are these string files being created by a specific app or service on your machine?
Are these files appearing in random folders, or in a specific location?
This will help me to assist further!

it looks as if the entire contents of my pc have gone to my dropbox? it's on 110,762 files downloading!! is there anyway i can clear all the stuff I don't want in there without doing thousands 1 at a time??
most of them say strings, which I don't really know where they come from, some say downloads, locales, live title, connectoricons????

It sounds like you've activated the backup feature, which moves your key folders (Desktop, Documents, Downloads, etc.) into your Dropbox folder so they can sync. If that wasn't intended, you'll want to disable the backup.
thanks for the info, went on the link but still couldn't fully understand how to disable backup, if I manage to do this, is there anything I can do to remove all these 1000's of string files?
Hey @Sheila K.2, I hope you're doing well!
If you check the article, you can see in this paragraph how to disable it. Once you do, you can move your content back to their original paths.
If you have any questions, let me know.
