Files showing in dropbox that I did not put there

I am getting a dropbox message saying my dropbox is almost full, but when I look at the actual files I have loaded to dropbox it totals about 350meg.  However, when I look at the activity on my account it shows several files added about 21 days ago that I did not put in my dropbox, and I don't know what they are or who put them there.  They show to be on some external drive that I have no access to.  I cannot delete them, view them, or do anything with them.  I think they might be filling up my dropbox.  How can I get rid of them?

Sounds like you backed up an external drive. Check your Backups page.

Sounds like you've accidentally set up Dropbox Backup.

Thanks Rich.  I don't know how I did that, but I do see an External Drive folder when I click on the link you sent me.  Can I just delete that?
