Getting low on storage space, unable to download WAV files

The first issue: I have been able to upload mp3 files successfully into Dropbox. When I try to upload WAV files, Dropbox tries to upload and then throws an error message about a lack of space. I checked backups and it appears there are none. The plan tab reports I am using about 232Mb of space out of 2.5 GB. I have also checked wifi speed and moved closer to the wifi in case that's the issue. The wifi seems faster than the ethernet. What else can I try? I obviously need some help. Anyone have some ideas?
