Storage Space
Looking for help with managing the storage space in your Dropbox account? Talk to the Dropbox Community and get advice from members.
I have checked my files and folders in Dropbox and they sum up to a total of 662 Mb. My account has 2 Gb storage space. Why should I need to upgrade?
I'm on Mac OS Monterey, ver 12.6.1
I have read other queries regarding same/similar matters, but not quite known how to act on the advice the have received.
Thanks for help to sort this out
The difference in quota is the main factor, since the desktop app should always show the correct quota shown on the site.
However, after reading the message again and translating it, the warning is a year old, so it should no longer be valid.

Check your Backups page.
I have checked my backup page. Can't see that anything is backed up. Here's a screen dump. In Swedish I'm afraid.
Hey @CETO, sorry to jump in, but can you clarify where exactly are you getting the notification to upgrade your account?
Is it in the app or via an email perhaps?
Also, what is your account's plan tab reporting in regards to your quota at the moment?

I have the same problem. I deleted all the files and it still shows me the warning
Hi Walter,
thanks for your help.
hope this screen shot explains. Its when I click on the Dropbox symbol in the top tool bar and choose the "bell" for messages. The small message window opens and there it is (in Swedish). It says "Your Dropbox is nearly out of storage space..."
..and here is the answer to your second question
Hi @CETO, the two images don't seem to relate to the same account, since the site is showing the current quota on your account (and would always be the correct version), and it's underquota, when compared to the first image.
Is the Dropbox desktop application from the Dropbox icon in the menu somehow signed into a different Dropbox account?

Hi @Jay, as far as I know it's the same account. At least the content is the same wether I look at the desktop or in the web window. What exactly is it that indicates two different accounts?
